On 28 and 29 January recorded minor explosions that ejected incandescent material. Incandescence continues to be observed at night.
On 30 January at 13:56 local time an explosion at the volcano generated gas and ash plume which rose approx. 11,100 ft (3,400 m) above the summit and drifted SE and NE. Parts of the plume collapsed, generating pyroclastic flows that drifted NE and SE.
No lava flows has been observed since 24 November 2019.
The number of long-period earthquakes and tremor are associated with explosions.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 3 km distance from the main crater on the SW flank and 5 km away on the ENE flank.
