Shibuya (280.4 km SW from epicenter) [Map] / MMI IV (Light shaking): We are visiting, I grew in Coronado, California and knew immediately we were having an earthquake - it went right into it - our hotel room is on the 6th floor on the higher part of the Shibuya hill - about 200 Meters from the Tv studio here. It was a wavy sodeways sort similar to the type we have in Southern California. I am not aware of what foundation this hotel has but it is newish, took the movement well. Did not notice any aftershocks
