In Montenegro bebte heute die Erde mit einer Stärke von 4.7. Laut Angaben des Deutschen GeoForschungsZentrums in Potsdam (GFZ) ereignete sich das Beben am Samstag, dem 26. Juni 2021, in den frühen Morgenstunden um 01:18 Lokalzeit 6.9 km nordöstlich von der Stadt Herceg Novi (Herceg - Novi) in einer Tiefe von 10 km. Die Stärke, genaue Lage des Epizentrums und Erdbebentiefe können in den nächsten Stunden noch korrigiert werden, während Seismologen die Daten manuell auswerten und ihre Berechnungen verfeinern.
Eine zweite Agentur, das Nationale Observatorium in Athen (NOA), gab das Erdbeben abweichend mit einer Stärke von 4.2 an. Eine dritte Agentur, das European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), gab die Stärke des Bebens als 4.8 an.
Anhand der vorläufigen seismischen Daten müsste das Beben von vielen Menschen in der Nähe des Epizentrums gespürt worden sein. Nennenswerter Schaden sollte bei dieser Magnitude nicht aufgetreten sein, außer möglicherweise heruntergefallenen Gegenständen, kleinen Rissen u.s.w.
Folgende Orte in der Nähe des Epizentrums wurden wahrscheinlich vom Beben betroffen: Herceg Novi (19,500 Einw. in 7 km Entfernung, mäßige Erschütterungen zu erwarten), Igalo (3,800 Einw. in 8 km Entfernung, mäßige Erschütterungen), Tivat (6,300 Einw. in 13 km Entfernung, mäßige Erschütterungen), Dobrota (5,400 Einw. in 17 km Entfernung, mäßige Erschütterungen), Kotor (5,300 Einw. in 19 km Entfernung, mäßige Erschütterungen), Trebinje (33,200 Einw. in 29 km Entfernung, leichtes Bodenschütteln), Bileća (13,300 Einw. in 42 km Entfernung, leichtes Bodenschütteln), Nikšić (58,200 Einw. in 42 km Entfernung, leichtes Bodenschütteln), Podgorica (136,500 Einw. in 57 km Entfernung, leichtes Bodenschütteln) und Shkodër (88,200 Einw. in 92 km Entfernung, sehr leichtes Vibrieren).

I couldn‘t see anything, I just felt „heavy“ vibrating and a very loud Sound. I Never knew how an earthquake feels like but know I know. It‘s scary.
