In Colorado, USA bebte heute die Erde mit einer Stärke von 3.8. Laut Angaben des United States Geological Survey ereignete sich das Beben am Montag, dem 13. September 2021, in den frühen Morgenstunden um 03:27 Lokalzeit 28 km westlich von Springfield (Baca County, Colorado) in einer Tiefe von 5 km. Die Stärke, genaue Lage des Epizentrums und Erdbebentiefe können in den nächsten Stunden noch korrigiert werden, während Seismologen die Daten manuell auswerten und ihre Berechnungen verfeinern.
Das European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) meldete das Erdbeben ebenfalls und gab ebenfalls eine Stärke von 3.8 an.
Einige Orte in der Nähe des Epizentrums, in denen das Beben anhand von vorläufigen Schätzungen möglicherweise spürbar war, sind Springfield (1,400 Einw. in 28 km Entfernung, sehr leichtes Vibrieren zu erwarten), Las Animas (2,200 Einw. in 76 km Entfernung, sehr leichtes Vibrieren) und la ma er (7,600 Einw. in 78 km Entfernung, sehr leichtes Vibrieren).
