The new lava flow on Fuego volcano this morning
A new lava flow has appeared during the past days and is currently flowing from the summit crater towards the Trinidad canyon (SE side) with a length of 300 m this morning. Weak glowing avalanches detach from its front. ...mehr
Fri, 20 Sep 2013, 09:49
Fuego yesterday morning (INSIVUMEH)
No significant change in activity occurred over the past days. Small to moderate explosions that often are accompanied by shock waves occur from time to time (several times per day). Ash plumes rose up to about 600 m during 18-19 September.
Mon, 16 Sep 2013, 15:07
Fuego this morning (INSIVUMEH)
Explosive activity has increased a bit recently. INSIVUMEH reports explosions with incandescent tephra reaching 75-100 m above the crater and ash plumes rising up to almost 1 km during the past days. Frequent incandescent avalanches occur from the ejected bombs on the upper slope of the volcano. Light gray ash fall occurred at the observatory (located to the south).
Tue, 10 Sep 2013, 13:37
Activity has been mild during the past days, with occasional small strombolian-type explosions that eject incandescent material to about 100 m above the crater. ...mehr

Fuego yesterday morning (INSIVUMEH)
The volcano observatory reports an increase in seismic and explosive activity occurred yesterday. There were frequent moderate to strong explosions, generating shock waves that could be heard and felt in up to 12 km distance. ...mehr
Fri, 6 Sep 2013, 11:48
After the paroxysm on 2 Sep, the lava flow effusion has stopped and the volcano has returned to its typical activity with occasional explosions from the summit vent. INSIVUMEH reported 6 moderate explosions yesterday with ash plumes rising up to 800 m and drifting for 10-12 km before dispersing.a.
Mon, 2 Sep 2013, 16:24
Pyroclastic flows in the Ceniza canyon this morning (INSIVUMEH)
A phase of increased lava flow activity occurred this morning from about 6 am local time, generating a series of pyroclastic flows that descended several ravines on different, but mostly the southwestern side of the volcano. ...mehr [alles lesen]
Fri, 30 Aug 2013, 09:15
The lava flows were no longer active yesterday morning. Activity consisted in weak to moderate strombolian explosions with incandescent material projected to up to 150 m above the crater, and ash plumes of a few 100 m height.
Wed, 28 Aug 2013, 04:57
Activity has not seen significant changes over the past days. Mild to moderate explosions (14 during 26-27 Aug counted) produce ash plumes of 200-500 m height and weak to moderate glowing avalanches of bombs on the upper slopes.
Mon, 19 Aug 2013, 16:51
Fuego's active lava flows towards the Taniluya (l) and Ceniza canyon (r) last night
A surge in effusive activity has occurred overnight. The two active lava flows towards the Taniluya (western flank) and Ceniza (southern flank) canyons increased to 600 and 800 m length, respectively. ...mehr [alles lesen]
