Vulkannachrichten: Fuego Volcano (Guatemala)

Mon, 20 Apr 2015, 10:11
Lava flow on Fuego early on 18 April 2015
A more intense phase of activity with the effusion of a 2 km long lava flow on the southeastern slope into the Taniluya canyon occurred during 17-18 April. ...mehr
Fri, 13 Mar 2015, 17:48
The number and average size of explosions at the volcano have increased again since Wednesday. INSIVUMEH reported frequent explosions with shock waves and ash plumes of up to 1 km height. No lava flow is currently active.
Mon, 9 Mar 2015, 16:20
The volcano is in mild to moderate strombolian activity with a few explosions on average per hour. Incandescent material is being ejected to 100 m above the crater and ash plumes rise up to 800 m. ...mehr
Tue, 3 Mar 2015, 12:05
INSIVUMEH reported that an effusive eruption at Fuego that began on 28 February produced 300-400-m-high lava fountains. One lava flow traveled 1.6 km S down the Trinidad drainage and another traveled 600 m W down the Santa Teresa drainage. The eruption produced rumbling and train sounds audible up to 12 km away. Ash plumes rose 850-1,250 m above the crater and drifted 35 km W. ...mehr [alles lesen]
Thu, 19 Feb 2015, 18:05
Steam and ash plumes from Fuego today
The volcano experienced another surge in activity on 16 Feb, but has now returned to moderate levels again, with moderate to strong strombolian explosions ejecting incandescent material to 150 m and ash plumes rising up to 1km. ...mehr [alles lesen]
Tue, 10 Feb 2015, 10:32
Fuego volcano yesterday
The recent, strong paroxysm ended Sunday. It had lasted 22 hours. CONRED reported that the volcano now returned to its typical intermittent strombolian activity with weak to moderate explosions. ...mehr [alles lesen]
Sun, 8 Feb 2015, 11:48
Bright glow at Fuego volcano from violent strombolian activity, lava flows and forest fires
A new paroxysm, a drastically stronger phase of activity, began at the volcano yesterday, characterized by increased strombolian-type explosions, effusion of lava flows and moderate to large pyroclastic flows that traveled to the southeastern side threatening the road between Antigua and Escuintla. ...mehr [alles lesen]
Sat, 7 Feb 2015, 15:35
Explosions remain frequent and often strong, producing ash plumes that rise 1-1.3 km above the crater and are accompanied by shock waves that rattle roof and windows in nearby villages.
Tue, 3 Feb 2015, 17:30
Ring-shaped (giant smoke ring?) eruption cloud from Fuego today
Activity has been at the higher end of the scale recently. Strong explosions occur frequently, ejecting plumes that reach 1-1.3 km height and causing constant avalanches on the volcano's upper slopes, often causing bush fires in the vegetation below. ...mehr
Mon, 19 Jan 2015, 15:42
Current seismic signal at Fuego (FG3 station, INSIVUMEH)
Activity remains elevated. The volcano observatory reports 4-5 explosions per hour, often strong with ash plumes rising more than 1 km above the crater and drifting 10-12 km. ...mehr
Mon, 12 Jan 2015, 14:56
Strong explosion at Fuego volcano yesterday
