Tuesday Sep 24, 2013 17:13 PM | VON: T

The new lava flow on Fuego volcano this morning
The new lava flow on Fuego volcano this morning
A new lava flow has appeared during the past days and is currently flowing from the summit crater towards the Trinidad canyon (SE side) with a length of 300 m this morning. Weak glowing avalanches detach from its front.
Explosive activity in turn has weakened and consisted of strombolian eruptions with ash plumes of 2-400 m height and incandescent material being ejected to about 100 m above the crater.
Vorherige Nachrichten
Fuego yesterday morning (INSIVUMEH)
Friday, Sep 20, 2013
No significant change in activity occurred over the past days. Small to moderate explosions that often are accompanied by shock waves occur from time to time (several times per day). Ash plumes rose up to about 600 m during 18-19 September. [mehr]
Fuego this morning (INSIVUMEH)
Monday, Sep 16, 2013
Explosive activity has increased a bit recently. INSIVUMEH reports explosions with incandescent tephra reaching 75-100 m above the crater and ash plumes rising up to almost 1 km during the past days. Frequent incandescent avalanches occur from the ejected bombs on the upper slope of the volcano. Light gray ash fall occurred at the observatory (located to the south). [mehr]

The volcano observatory reports an increase in seismic and explosive activity occurred yesterday. There were frequent moderate to strong explosions, generating shock waves that could be heard and felt in up to 12 km distance. ... [mehr]
Friday, Sep 06, 2013
After the paroxysm on 2 Sep, the lava flow effusion has stopped and the volcano has returned to its typical activity with occasional explosions from the summit vent. INSIVUMEH reported 6 moderate explosions yesterday with ash plumes rising up to 800 m and drifting for 10-12 km before dispersing.a. [mehr]
