Fuego volcano (Guatemala): ongoing strombolian activity at moderately high levels

INSIVUMEH recorded 5-10 strombolian-type explosions per hour that generated a grey ash plume which reached approx. 14,760 ft-15,410 ft (4,500 m-4,700 m) altitude and drifted W and SW.
In addition, they recorded white plume that reached 14,100 ft (4,300 m) altitude and drifted W and SW.
Incandescence material is ejected to an approximate height of 100m-300 m above the crater with moderate to strong avalanches.
Lava flows on the Seca Canyon remain active.
Ashfall was reported in several areas downwind including Santa Sofía (12 km SW), Morelia (9 km SW), Panimaché I and II (8 km SW), Finca Palo Verde, San Pedro Yepocapa (8 km NW), Sangre de Cristo (8 km WSW), and El Porvenir (8 km ENE).
This is due to ongoing strombolian activity from the summit vent.
