Home Reef volcano (Tonga Islands): submarine eruption led to form new island

New volcano island in Tonga Ridge as seen from satellite (image: planet)
The ongoing submarine activity resulted to form of a new volcano island at 12:59 PM local time with a diameter of about 70 meters emerging approx. 10 meters above sea level.
Gas emissions rose about 1 km above the sea.
A thermal anomaly has been detected in a satellite image on 13 September.
The Aviation Color Code was raised to Yellow. Mariners are advised to stay 5 km away from the volcano.
