Machin volcano (Colombia) activity update: weak seismic unrest

No significant changes have been occurring. Weak seismic unrest continues at Cerro Machín with some small volcanic quakes clustered at depths between 3-6 km south and southwest under the main summit. The largest event was a magnitude 0.55 on 22 August at 08:27 local time.

Machín volcano in Tolima (Columbia) became active over the weekend as Columbian newspapers reported. Hundreds of families living in the area surrounding the volcano had to be evacuated. alles lesen
