The actively growing lava dome slowly grows and sheds numerous glowing avalanches that descend into southwestern flank about 2 km distance from the summit and lifted ash plumes (so-called phoenix clouds) as it descended the slope as can be seen in the attached video from yesterday. It resulted from a partial collapse of the lava dome at the southwestern rim of the volcano's summit crater.
Seismic network detected about 124 quakes.
The public is being warned to stay at least 3 km away from the summit.
