View into Pacaya's Mackenney crater this morning (22 Dec 2015)
During our visit at the volcano this morning, the first direct observation of the crater was possible following a period of 5 days of bad weather. When we climbed the crater rim, we observed violent, continuous lava spattering from the central vent on an intra-crater cinder cone inside Mackenney crater. ...mehr [alles lesen]

Pacaya's active vent inside Mackenney crater on 6 Nov (facebook video snapshot)
Near continuous spattering and weak strombolian activity is occurring from a vent deep inside the Mackenney crater. ...mehr

Weak, deep-seated explosive activity continues inside the Mackenney crater. INSIVUMEH reports moderate degassing creating a plume of 150-200 m height with pulsating emissions of bluish gas. At night, weak glow is visible from the crater.
Wed, 23 Sep 2015, 11:05
INSIVUMEH reported that during 17-19 September white-and-blue fumarolic plumes rose from Pacaya's Mackenney cone and drifted W and S. Tremor was detected and incandescence from the crater was visible at night. ...mehr

Tremor at Pacaya which began on 16 June continued to be elevated at least through 18 August. INSIVUMEH reported that white-and-blue gas plumes were accompanied by a small gas emission on 1 September; the plume drifted W.

Weak strombolian activity continues inside the Mackenney crater and produces small plumes of gas and light ash. Glow is visible at night.

Deep-seated strombolian activity produces small ash plumes from the Mackenney crater where glow can be seen at night.

Mild strombolian activity producing small ash plumes continues at the Mackenney crater. Incandescence is visible from the crater at night,
Mon, 22 Jun 2015, 15:32
Mild strombolian activity has resumed in the main (Mackenney) crater of the volcano. INSIVUMEH reported intense degassing, small ash emissions, incandescence at night and volcanic tremor. ...mehr
Tue, 2 Jun 2015, 16:19
INSIVUMEH reported degassing and occasional ash emissions that rise approx. 200 m above the Mackenney crater. This is likely a sign of weak, dee-seated strombolian activity from a vent inside the crater.
