Pavlof volcano (Alaska Peninsula, Alaska) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 21 September-27 September 2022 (Continuing Activity)

AVO reported that a minor eruption at a vent on Pavlof's upper E flank was ongoing during 20-27 September. Small explosions were detected in seismic and infrasound data during 20-21 September; seismic tremor levels were variable during the rest of the week. Weather clouds often prevented views of the volcano, though elevated surface temperatures were identified in satellite and webcam images during 20-21 and 23-27 September.
A diffuse gas was occasionally seen in webcam images during 25-26 September, and one plume with possible ash content was visible during 26-27 September. The Volcano Alert Level remained at Watch and the Aviation Color Code remained at Orange.
