Sangay volcano (Ecuador): eruptions continue with lava flows

Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Washington recorded explosive activity from the active crater with near-constant ash emissions that reached 20,000 ft (6,100 m) altitude. Volcanic ash is dispersed towards the southwest and causes ash fall on the volcano's slopes.
Lava flows continue to be active on the south-eastern slopes of the volcano.
The seismic station records 8 long-period earthquakes.
Lahars (mud flows) could also occur if heavy rainfalls remobilise the fresh ash deposits.
