Monday Aug 24, 2015 15:29 PM | VON: T

MODIS thermal signal from Sangeang Api (MIROVA)
MODIS thermal signal from Sangeang Api (MIROVA)
A thermal hot spot of moderate intensity from the volcano's summit continues to be visible on satellite data, suggesting some weak activity continues there.
A steam plume can be seen rising from the volcano's summit where a small lava dome might be growing.
Vorherige Nachrichten
Friday, Jul 10, 2015
The volcano continues to erupt. On Wednesday (8 July), an explosion generated an ash plume that rose to 9,000 ft (2.7 km) altitude and drifted 35 km to the south. ... [mehr]
Heat signal from Sangeang Api volcano during the past year (MIROVA)
Sunday, Jun 28, 2015
Satellite data suggest that a new lava flow is active traveling from the summit crater of Doro Api through a narrow ravine on the SE side of the volcano. ... [mehr]
Saturday, Aug 02, 2014
Activity (effusive and/or explosive) continues at the volcano. On 1 August, a volcanic ash plume was detected on satellite imagery extending 25 km to the WNW, at estimated 8,000 ft (2.4 km) altitude (VAAC Darwin). [mehr]

Wednesday, Jul 23, 2014
The volcano remains active, and continues to feed the new lava flow traveling inside a ravine on the SE flank. This is confirmed by satellite imagery from 20 July, where the front of the lava flow seems to be already close to the coast. [mehr]
