Semeru volcano (East Java, Indonesia): eruption continues with lava flows; ash to 46,000 ft

Lava flows from Semeru volcano on the SE flank remain active (image: Sentinel 2)
Lava flows on the southeast flank remain active, currently about 4,921 ft (1,500 m) long.
Incandescent material is being ejected above Seloko Jongring crater and caused avalanches of material.
The seismic station records 71 volcano-tectonic earthquakes.
The warning bulletin states that ballistic impacts of volcanic bombs and pyroclastic flows could affect an area of about 1 km distance from the main crater and 4 km on the SSE flank.
