Several ash plumes up to altitudes of 27,000 ft (8 km) altitude were spotted by VAAC Tokyo during the past 24 hours, indicating that activity at the growing lava dome in form of explosions and/or avalanches/pyroclastic flows remains elevated.

Glow from Sheveluch's lava dome yesterday (KVERT webcam)
Several ash plumes to altitudes of 17-20,000 ft (5-6 km) have been detected by VAAC Tokyo during the past 24 hours. Webcam images are mostly obscured by clouds, but glow can be sometimes seen at the lava dome. Most likely the ash plumes were generated by partial collapse events and/or explosions, which in turn might have been associated with new pyroclastic flows.

A series of larger dome collapse events took place today, producing large pyroclastic flows and an ash plume that rose to about 30,000 ft (10 km) altitude.

Shiveluch volcano this morning (KVERT webcam)
Explosive and effusive activity continue. Occasional clear weather webcam images show strong steaming (with some ash?) and warm or hot pyroclastic deposits from recent block avalanches from the growing lava dome. A possible explosion this morning produced an ash plume reported to flight level 170 (17,000 ft / 5 km) altitude and extending SE. (VAAC Tokyo)

Bright glow from a likely collapse event at Shiveluch this morning (KVERT webcam)
An small ash plume rising to 12,000 ft (3,6 km) was detected at 11:00 UTC by VAAC Tokyo this morning (20:00 local time), suggesting another eruption (likely partial collapse from the dome). Video data show increased incandescence at that time, confirming this interpretation.

First of the two pyroclastic flows yesterday at Shiveluch
Extrusion of viscous lava at the dome continues to feed at least 2 thick lava flows on the SW, NW and NE slopes. Two larger partial dome collapses occurred yesterday, producing pyroclastic flows and ash plumes that rose to altitudes of 23,000 ft (7 km).

KVERT reported that the current eruption continued through the week and included several strong ash eruptions that sent plumes to altitudes of 7-10 km (~22,000-33,000 ft) and drifted more than 200 km to the NE. Visual and satellite observations determined that lava extrusion continued on the NE and N flanks of the lava dome. This viscous block lava generated moderate ash explosions; fumarolic activity, hot avalanches, and incandescence at the summit also continued.

As if it was jealous of Klyuchevskoy, the other volcano currently in violent eruption, Shiveluch has increased its activity recently. Dome growth has gained speed again, producing more frequent avalanches as well as explosions. Several explosions occurred during the past 24 hours sending ash plumes to 20-23,000 ft (6-7 km) altitude and drifting east.

The lava dome has become more active again, and frequently produces small incandescent avalanches. Strong degassing and occasional ash venting accompany this process. A weak ash plume rose today from the volcano to an altitude of about 12,000 ft, as can be seen on the following video:

Activity continues at moderate levels with little changes. The viscous lava dome remains active and produces occasional small ash explosions and avalanches.
