Fast konstante Aktivität in den letzten 2000-3000 Jahren. Lavastrom & Eruption z.B. im Dezember 2002 - Juli 2003, sowie im März 2007.
Typische Aktivität:
Kleine, explosive strombolische Eruptionen, die typischerweise alle 20-30 Minuten stattfinde. Alle 20-30 Jahre gibt es kleinere, effusive Eruptionen mit Lavaströmen und 2-5 mal im Jahr größere Explosionen.

The activity remains very intense at the volcano. Continuous spattering and sometimes very strong, lava-rich explosions occur from the NE summit vents in particular.
UPDATE: here's a time-lapse showing the entire night's activity:

The activity is so strong that it is also visible on satellite imagery, showing strong hot spots at the vents of the volcano's crater.

Die Tätigkeit am "Leuchtturm des Mittelmeers" hat sich heute Abend nochmals deutlich gesteigert: mehrere Schlote sind in der Kraterterrasse gleichzeitig aktiv, insbesondere die nordöstlichen Krater speien fast dauerhaft Salven aus glühender Lava (sogenanntes Spattering).
