Suwanosejima volcano (Ryukyu Islands, Japan) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 1 June-7 June 2022 (Continuing Activity)

JMA reported that 27 explosions were recorded at Suwanosejima's Ontake Crater during 30 May-6 June. Eruption plumes rose as high as 1.6 km above the crater rim and material was ejected as far as 600 m from the vent. Crater incandescence was visible at night.
The Alert Level remained at 3 and the public was warned to stay 2 km away from the crater.
