Tor Zawar volcano is located at Tor Zawar mountain in the Ziarat region of west-central Pakistan. It is the only known volcano that has been active in Pakistan in recent times. No previous volcanic activity is known from this area.
The eruption consisted in a small and brief fissure eruption from small closely spaced fissures and built a scoria/spatter cone and a miniscule vesicular to glassy lava flow that traveled only 8.2 meters. Unfortunately, the lava flow was later removed from the eruption site.

The location of the vent is in an area between the active regional Bibai and Gogai thrust faults. 2 analyzed samples had a trachybasaltic and a basaltic-andesite composition, the latter showing evidence of crustal contamination.Sources: Global Volcanism Program / Smithsonian Institution
