Turrialba volcano (Costa Rica): continuing ash emissions

Steam and ash plume from Turrialba on 4 Nov 2016 (image: Arnon Rodríguez Campos via RSN / facebook)The volcano's activity has been fairly constant over the past weeks. It continues to erupt near-constant ash and steam plumes reaching up to 500-1000 m height and drifting into various directions (mostly to the west).
Light ash falls regularly affect downwind areas.
The activity, at fluctuating intensity, seems to be mostly driven by the magma-water interaction (phreatomagmatic activity), caused by a (probably small) body of new magma underneath the shallow hydrothermal system.
