The activity is associated with increased level SO2 and CO2 emissions and temperature.
The seismic station recorded a small internal tremor related to near-continuous degassing over the past few weeks.
Based on the changes in the activity, the INGV raised the alert level for the volcano to "yellow".

Vulcano volcano (Aeolian Islands, Italy) - Smithsonian / USGS Weekly Volcanic Activity Report for 29 September-5 October 2021 (New Activity / Unrest)
INGV reported that hydrothermal activity at Vulcano increased in July, and notably more in September. Specifically, temperatures of the fumaroles on the crater rim and on the inner flank had increased along with the amounts of carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide in the emissions.
