Just 10 minutes ago at 22/10/2020 19:54:38 local time, a 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck near the town of Villa Mercedes, Argentina, with a recorded depth of 10 km below the surface, considered shallow in seismological terms.
The event was filed by the INPRES agency, the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt, based on preliminary calculations, include Villa Mercedes (pop. 96,800) at a distance of 16 km with weak shaking, Justo Daract (pop. 9,700) at a distance of 48 km with very weak shaking, La Toma (pop. 6,700) at a distance of 56 km with very weak shaking, San Luis (pop. 184,000) at a distance of 78 km with very weak shaking.

#5: 2.9 quake: 10km ESE of Willits, CA, USA, 22 Oct 2020 12:53 - 3 reports
#6: 3.3 quake: 13km SE of Bodfish, CA, USA, 22 Oct 2020 06:10 - 3 reports

An earthquake of magnitude 3.2 occurred late at night on 21 October at 11.10 pm local time in California near Bodfish, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported. According to preliminary data, the quake occurred at a very shallow depth of 2.1 km (1.3 miles). Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change within the next hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
Our monitoring service at VolcanoDiscovery also identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.0.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Towns and cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt, based on preliminary calculations, include Bodfish (pop. 2,000) at a distance of 13 km (8 miles) with weak shaking, Squirrel Mountain Valley (pop. 500) at a distance of 14 km (8 miles) with weak shaking, Golden Hills (pop. 8,700) at a distance of 41 km (25 miles) with very weak shaking, Tehachapi (pop. 13,000) at a distance of 41 km (26 miles) with very weak shaking.
