Light earthquake of magnitude 4.7 just reported 112 km west of Managua, Nicaragua

4.7 quake 68 km southwest of León, Nicaragua, 23 Nov 5.05 am (GMT -6)
Our monitoring service at VolcanoDiscovery identified a second report from the Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies (INETER) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.7 as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter. Weak shaking might have been felt in Corinto (pop. 19,200) located 60 km from the epicenter, El Realejo (pop. 6,200) 67 km away, León (pop. 144,500) 68 km away, Posoltega (pop. 6,400) 73 km away, Quezalguaque (pop. 2,000) 73 km away, Chichigalpa (pop. 33,100) 74 km away, Chinandega (pop. 126,400) 77 km away, and Managua (pop. 973,100) 112 km away.
