Magnitude 4.7 earthquake strikes near Nicoya, Costa Rica

Just 5 minutes ago, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Nicoya, Provincia de Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The tremor was recorded around noon on Friday 4 December 2020 at 12.10 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 26 km below the surface.

The event was filed by the Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies (INETER), the first seismological agency to report it.
