A magnitude 4.2 earthquake near Funchal, Funchal Municipality, Madeira, Portugal, was reported only 20 minutes ago by IGN, considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at a moderately shallow depth of 30 km beneath the epicenter in the evening on Friday 1 January 2021 at 9:06 pm local time.
