Magnitude 4.2 earthquake strikes near Glyfada, Phocis, Central Greece, Greece

Our monitoring service identified a second report from the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.4. A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.2.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake was probably felt by many people in the area of the epicenter. It should not have caused significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
In Glyfada (pop. 480) located 3 km from the epicenter, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Trizonia (pop. 64) located 4 km from the epicenter, Chania (pop. 62) 4 km away, Spilia (pop. 45) 5 km away, Kamarai (pop. 1,200) 11 km away, Rododafni (pop. 2,600) 14 km away, Aigio (pop. 20,400) 16 km away, Nafpaktos (pop. 13,400) 19 km away, and Patrai (pop. 168,000) 31 km away.
