Light 4.2 quake hits near Poblado 10, Uxpanapa, Veracruz, Mexico

A intermediate magnitude 4.2 earthquake was reported early morning near Poblado 10, Uxpanapa, Veracruz, Mexico.
According to Mexico's National Seismological Service (SSN), the quake hit on Thursday 21 January 2021 at 3:35 am local time at an intermediate depth of 99 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.2 as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include San Antonio Nuevo Paraiso (pop. 110) located 15 km from the epicenter, Helio Garcia Alfaro (pop. 1,600) 26 km away, Poblado 10 (pop. 3,300) 30 km away, Poblado Cinco (pop. 1,300) 36 km away, Hermanos Cedillo (pop. 1,200) 39 km away, Santa Maria Chimalapa (pop. 2,500) 40 km away, Santo Domingo Zanatepec (pop. 7,200) 61 km away, and Cintalapa de Figueroa (pop. 42,500) 76 km away.
