Light tremor of magnitude 4.4 just reported 99 km west of San Antonio de los Cobres, Argentina

4.4 quake 23 Jan 8:22 am (GMT -3)
The quake hit at an intermediate to considerable depth of 187 km beneath the epicenter near San Antonio de los Cobres, Departamento de Los Andes, Salta, Argentina, in the morning on Saturday 23 January 2021 at 8:22 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.6 earthquake. A third agency, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), reported the same quake at magnitude 4.5.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In San Antonio de los Cobres (pop. 4,000, 99 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
