A shallow magnitude 4.7 earthquake was reported late at night near Kintore, MacDonnell, Northern Territory, Australia.

According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the quake hit on Friday 12 March 2021 at 10:57 pm local time at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
