Quake felt in southern Canada
People in the small town of Kemptville located about 12 km northwest of the quake's epicenter, as well as in other nearby areas, could clearly feel the quake in the evening.

Many described to have heard a loud sound followed by a short rattling movement of the ground.
Due to the regional geology of dense, old crustal rocks and its shallow depth, the quake - although comparably small in magnitude - was felt more strongly than it would under other circumstances (e.g. regions in sedimentary basins). There are no reports of damage.
