Small 3.1 quake hits near Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma, USA

An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 occurred only 7 minutes ago 21 miles southwest of Enid, Oklahoma, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 2.7 miles beneath the epicenter near Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma, USA, in the evening on Sunday 21 March 2021 at 9:37 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.1 as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Hennessey (pop. 2,200) located 7 miles from the epicenter, and Kingfisher (pop. 4,900) 18 miles away. In Enid (pop. 51,800, 21 miles away), El Reno (pop. 18,500, 40 miles away), Edmond (pop. 90,100, 44 miles away), and Yukon (pop. 25,900, 45 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.

A magnitude 4.4 earthquake near Pelabuhanratu, West Java, Indonesia, was reported only 10 minutes ago by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide.
