Small magnitude 3.0 quake hits 22 miles northwest of Ardmore, Oklahoma, United States early afternoon

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 3.0 quake in the United States near Ardmore, Carter County, Oklahoma, only 7 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early afternoon on Tuesday 23 March 2021 at 3:34 pm local time at a very shallow depth of 0.2 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.0 earthquake as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Ratliff City (pop. 120) located 7 miles from the epicenter, Healdton (pop. 2,800) 12 miles away, and Lone Grove (pop. 5,200) 17 miles away. In Davis (pop. 2,800, 19 miles away), Ardmore (pop. 25,200, 22 miles away), and Duncan (pop. 23,200, 32 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
