Significant earthquake of magnitude 5.0 just reported 112 km southeast of Salina Cruz, Mexico

5.0 quake 23 Apr 9:33 am (GMT -6)
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 11 km beneath the epicenter near Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, Mexico, in the morning on Friday 23 April 2021 at 9:33 am local time. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
