Small earthquake of magnitude 3.8 reported 56 miles southeast of Adak, Alaska, United States

A moderately shallow magnitude 3.8 earthquake was reported in the afternoon near Adak, Aleutians West, Alaska, USA.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake hit on Friday 23 April 2021 at 4:26 pm local time at a moderately shallow depth of 31 miles. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.8 earthquake as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Adak (pop. 330, 56 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
