An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 occurred only 23 minutes ago 38 miles northwest of Toyah, Texas, United States, the United States Geological Survey reported.
3.0 quake 26 Apr 5:40 pm (GMT -5)
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 4.5 miles beneath the epicenter near Toyah, Reeves County, Texas, USA, in the afternoon on Monday 26 April 2021 at 5:40 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 2.9 earthquake.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Toyah (pop. 98, 38 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
