A very shallow magnitude 3.2 earthquake was reported in the afternoon near Toyah, Reeves County, Texas, USA.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake hit on Monday 26 April 2021 at 5:46 pm local time at a very shallow depth of 4.5 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Toyah (pop. 98, 39 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
