An earthquake of magnitude 4.5 occurred only 18 minutes ago 83 km east of Nemuro, Russia, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.

The quake hit at a moderately shallow depth of 50 km beneath the epicenter near Nemuro, Nemuro-shi, Hokkaido, Japan, early morning on Wednesday 5 May 2021 at 5:33 am local time.
