Moderate 4.6 quake hits near Hihifo, Niuas, Tonga

The United States Geological Survey reported a magnitude 4.6 quake in Tonga near Hihifo, Niuas, only 24 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early evening on Wednesday 5 May 2021 at 6:05 pm local time at a moderately shallow depth of 67.9 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
