Magnitude 4.2 earthquake strikes near Tokushima, Tokushima Shi, Japan

Japan's National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) reported a magnitude 4.2 quake in Japan near Tokushima, Tokushima Shi, only 10 minutes ago. The earthquake hit around noon on Thursday 6 May 2021 at 1:32 pm local time at a moderately shallow depth of 43.8 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.7.
