An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred around noon on Saturday 8 May 2021 at 12:50 pm local time near Ashoknagar, Madhya Pradesh, India, as reported by India's National Center for Seismology (NCS).

According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 10 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
