A magnitude 4.7 earthquake near Sonsonate, Departamento de Sonsonate, El Salvador, was reported 32 minutes ago by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 24 km beneath the epicenter after midnight on Wednesday 12 May 2021 at 12:18 am local time.
