Moderate magnitude 4.8 quake hits 65 km northeast of Dededo Village, Northern Mariana Islands early afternoon

A magnitude 4.8 earthquake near Dededo Village, Dededo, Guam, was reported only 29 minutes ago by the United States Geological Survey, considered one of the key international agencies that monitor seismic activity worldwide. The earthquake occurred at an intermediate depth of 90.7 km beneath the epicenter early afternoon on Tuesday 8 June 2021 at 3:01 pm local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
