Moderate magnitude 4.5 quake hits 103 km southeast of Salina Cruz, Mexico after midnight

Just 20 minutes ago, a 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck near Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, Mexico. The tremor was recorded after midnight on Tuesday 15 June 2021 at 12:16 am local time, at a shallow depth of 16 km below the surface.
The event was filed by Mexico's National Seismological Service (SSN), the first seismological agency to report it.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Portillo Guayaba (pop. 10) located 91 km from the epicenter, San Francisco del Mar Viejo (pop. 4,000) 91 km away, San Mateo del Mar (pop. 5,700) 96 km away, and Salina Cruz (pop. 76,600) 103 km away.
