An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 occurred in the evening on Wednesday 16 June 2021 at 8:09 pm local time near Chase, Matanuska-Susitna, Alaska, USA, as reported by the United States Geological Survey.

According to preliminary data, the quake was located at an intermediate depth of 53 miles. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.0 as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Chase (pop. 34, 29 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
