The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.2 as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Mankato (pop. 840) located 10 miles from the epicenter, and Smith Center (pop. 1,600) 22 miles away. In Willow Springs (pop. 3,800, 24 miles away), Osborne (pop. 1,400, 26 miles away), Concordia (pop. 5,200, 39 miles away), and Belleville (pop. 1,900, 40 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.

A magnitude 4.0 earthquake near Shingū, Shingū-shi, Wakayama, Japan, was reported only 13 minutes ago by Japan's National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world.
