A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.8 earthquake as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Springfield (pop. 1,400) located 17 miles from the epicenter, Las Animas (pop. 2,200) 47 miles away, and la ma er (pop. 7,600) 49 miles away. In La Junta (pop. 7,000, 51 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
