Japan's National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) reported a magnitude 4.1 quake in Japan near Iwanai, Iwanai-gun, Hokkaido, only 11 minutes ago. The earthquake hit early morning on Wednesday, September 15th, 2021, at 5:24 am local time at an intermediate to considerable depth of 241.1 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
