An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred around noon on Thursday, November 25th, 2021, at 1:01 pm local time near Brisas de Zicatela, Santa Maria Colotepec, Oaxaca, Mexico, as reported by Mexico's National Seismological Service (SSN).

According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 16 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
