An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 occurred early morning on Saturday, December 11th, 2021, at 2:56 am local time near Las Cruces, La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, as reported by Mexico's National Seismological Service (SSN).

According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 16 km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
